
Welcome to the WASTELESS Training Programme!
While hunger is one of the world’s most important health risks, approximately one third of food produced at the global level is wasted every year (1.3bn tonnes) with tremendous negative impacts on society, the environment, and the economy.
The WASTELESS project has developed an interactive training programme to raise awareness and provide solution to reduce food loss and waste along the food supply chain.
Reducing Food Loss and Waste: CHANGE to the right path! is part of the training programme and it is dedicated to secondary school teachers and their pupils (age 14-17).
The training includes:
- Initial questionnaire to identify food waste habits
- 5 Lessons of 10 to 20 min with text, graphs, videos and images covering the following topics:
- Food Loss and Waste facts;
- Food Loss and Waste impact;
- The Food Waste hierarchy pyramid;
- EU initiatives for the reduction of Food Loss and Waste;
- How can we reduce Food Waste?
- Activity: ‘How much food do YOU waste!’ to make participants aware of the food waste they and their family discards
- Downloadable materials to provide further support for teachers in raising awareness on the food loss and waste topic.
In order to access the training you need an account on this platform. Go here and fill the required fields and press on ‘Create a new account’ button at the end of the page. You will receive an email to validate your account. After that, you will be notify per email when you will be able to access the course content.
Notes:
- The questionnaire is mandatory
- The Lessons can be done at your own pace. However, we recommend to follow them in their order.
